Sweet Sweet Baby

Did I mention that I love babies? Well, just in case I didn't... I'll say it again! I love me some babies! Jason, Marissa and Mr. C came to me about a year ago for the first time. You may remember the incredibly cute blonde in the Tonka truck. Well, Mr. C has a new baby brother, Mr. L. He is just as cute as his big brother and his big brother gets cuter (is that a word?) each time I see him. They are both adorable.

I just love this family. They come in and go about their business. They interact with one another and allow me to capture the moment(s). I don't pose them and they like it that way. It's just a very relaxed atmosphere. We come away with some breath taking portraits that are full of emotion.

See for yourself:

Sweet Babies

For as long as I can remember, I have loved children. I was so thrilled when my baby brother was born. I fell completely and instantly in love with him. I was in Heaven. The love of children just never went away... even after I had my own.

My brother is in Heaven now but before he left, he introduced me to Kristy. She used to babysit my oldest boys and she was at the hospital when my youngest was born. Now she has her own children and she is one of my best friends(not because of the children.. really!). Generally, I have to beg and plead with her to get the kids into the studio but not this time. She had these cute Easter outfits that she wanted to have them photographed in.

When I tell you that these children have me completely wrapped around their little fingers, it's no lie. I love them! I could just eat them up. Enough about that.....
Check out "my" cuties!

Date Night

There is nothing that I love more than my camera my husband. So, last Saturday when he said that he wanted to take me out I was thrilled. We went to dinner at Golden House and then we went to the beach to watch the sunset. I am not kidding when I say that my camera is with me no matter where I go. It's a growth that I have no desire to have removed.

My husband, at times, thinks that I have lost my mind. I am thankful that he loves me despite this. On this particular night, he must have asked me five times why I was taking pictures of such silly things. I just shushed him and carried on. He was very sweet though. He actually helped me draw Stellan's name in the sand so that I could document that I carry him in my heart along with my own children. There are many children that I carry in the same way but Stellan's Mommy just happens to have a name gallery.

Here are just a few of the silly things that I photographed during our date.

The tide was out. My honey made me walk out to the water line with him. I dodged jellyfish the whole way. I enjoyed mud squishing between my toes as a child, not so much anymore. Ick!

Can you see the jellyfish in there? I was afraid that they would sting.

These were all over the place.

And, this one will make an awesome texture for just the right picture one day. If you're a fellow photographer and you'd like to have it, leave a comment with your email address (I won't publish it) and I'll email it to you.

I'm already looking forward to our next date night. I love spending time with mycamera my hubby!

My Baby Cousins

This is for both of my "baby" cousins. Even though Gavin's Mommy is no longer a baby, she is also my "baby" cousin. I love you both!

Bunny lessons

I spent the day hanging out with the Easter Bunny today. It was a fabulous day. I've learned two things about bunnies this week. The first is that there is more than one Easter Bunny (they aren't all white) and the second is that my sweet little Fu Fu is NOT a girl. My 7 year old actually made the discovery. Hmmm? I'm thinking that I will not try to bond the black and white bunnies. Otherwise we will end up with black and white bunnies. Not good!

Meet my friend, the Easter Bunny!

My sweet baby cousin

So, you ask, where have I been? I've been entertaining children (my own), cleaning for guests and playing with Sweet Baby Gavin. Gavin is my baby cousin. His Mommy is my first cousin. My Dad's older sister's daughter. We don't get to see each other very often and when we do see each other, it's never for long enough (in my humble opinion).

I feel so honored to have been given the opportunity to take Gavin's very first professional portraits. I actually wiped tears from my eyes as I processed these pictures. Seeing his Mommy with him was very touching for me. Seeing him with his Mommy and Aunt was even more touching.

Here is Gavin with his family (minus Daddy who was at home). I know that my cousin does not really want to be plastered on my blog but she has to deal with it. I love her and I want everyone to see what a beautiful Mommy she is (forgive me, C?)
I love this collage!

Busy and loving it!

Wow, has this ever been a busy week! I love to be busy doing what I love! Love it!

I thought that I would share a few more portraits from my busy week. On Tuesday, I met with little Miss Jennifer and her Mommy. Most of you know that I am a volunteer photographer for The Littlest Heroes Project (www.thelittlestheroesproject.org). I happened to see Jennifer's story in the newspaper and decided to contact her Mommy to offer portraits. I am so glad that I did. Spending some time with Jennifer and her Mom was a true blessing to me. As soon as her story is up on The Littlest Heroes Project website, I'll link to it.
Jennifer has such a beautiful smile! Her spirit just shines!

Just after my session with Jennifer, I met with Rosalyn again. She was so distracted by everything at the park, that I decided to offer a studio session to try to get some smiles. And, it worked!

I had a session yesterday afternoon as well but I'm not going to share those portraits yet as they are a gift for someone and I don't want to spoil the surprise.

Next week will be another busy week as it's Spring Break for my munchkins. I'm hoping to have my truck (yes, it's still in the shop) so that I can do some fun things with them. I'd love to take them to the beach! We'll see!

Have a great weekend everyone and please keep praying for baby Stellan. He's doing much better but he's not out of the woods yet.
